High school softball, baseball, soccer, golf and tennis teams were in action.
SOFTBALL Hortonville 3, Appleton North 1 APPLETON - The Polar Bears scored single runs in the third, fourth and sixth inning en route to the Fox Valley Association win. The Lightning scored its lone run in the seventh. Ella Vanderwielen and Samantha D’Addario each drove in a run for Hortonville.
VOTE NOW: Choose from six nominees for Cellcom Post-Crescent athlete of the week Sawyer Haessly was 3-for-3, while Valerie Baranczyk added two hits for North. Grace Danoski pitched a complete game for Hortonville. She allowed eight hits, walked three and struck out four.
Kimberly 11, Appleton West 4 APPLETON - The Papermakers scored in all but two innings en route to the Fox Valley Association win. Kimberly scored one in the first, three in the second, five in the third, one in the fourth and one in the sixth. The Terrors scored one in the second, one in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Lillian Hanke was 2-for-4 with a double, while Ali Raddatz added a double for Appleton West. Fox Valley Lutheran 22, Shawano 2 SHAWANO - Natalie Bromm drove in seven runs on four hits to lead Fox Valley Lutheran to the Bay Conference win. Bromm hit an inside-the-park home run in the seventh inning to score three runs, hit a two-run double in the second, an RBI double in the third and drew a bases-loaded walk.
