After initially announcing he would be returning for his sophomore season, Florida State forward Thomas Bassong is entering the transfer portal, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello . Bassong became a key member of Luke Loucks' inaugural team down the home stretch, playing in all 33 games with 17 starts, including in 16 of the final 17 games. He averaged 5.

9 points and 3. 5 rebounds per game to go with 21 steals and 13 blocks. While his shooting will need to improve, his defensive ability made him a priority for FSU to retain.

He scored in double-figures five times last season, including a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double on the road against Georgia Tech in the best offensive game of his young career. He is originally from Paris, France, and shot 48. 6% from the floor, 26.

0% from 3-point range, and 54. 4% from the free-throw line. The 6-foot-8, 203-pounder was the first high school commit that Loucks landed and will have three seasons of eligibility at his next school.
