Alejandro Garnacho: Man United squad’s feelings to Chelsea star unveiled Dressing room sources have lifted the lid on the Manchester United squad’s feelings towards Alejandro Garnacho after the Red Devils’ victory over Chelsea on Saturday night. Bomb Squad INEOS decided to sell Garnacho last summer after an explosive fallout with then-head coach Ruben Amorim in the wake of the Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur, with the pair having had previous run-ins. The 21-year-old winger expressed his frustration at not starting the match in Bilbao in a hard-hitting post-match interview.

In response, Amorim told the youngster he was welcome to leave Old Trafford in a team meeting and that he “better pray” a suitable buyer was found before next season started. Garnacho was then placed alongside Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia in the Portuguese’s notorious ‘bomb squad’, made to train separately from the first-team squad as the club sourced exits for each incendiary member. In January, amid interest from Serie A giants Napoli, United had valued the Argentina international in the region of £70 million.

But this fee was reduced to £40 million in response to the untenable situation between coach and player, with an agreement eventually struck with Chelsea in the final week of the summer window. It has not been a happy switch to west London, however, with Garnacho struggling acutely for the Blues this season. Arguably, his worst performance of the campaign came at the weekend as his current side welcomed his old team to Stamford Bridge for a crunch clash in the race for the Champions League.

Despite a crisis in defence, United emerged 1-0 winners courtesy of a superb goal from Matheus Cunha, the player signed to replace Garnacho. By contrast, the Madrid native was horrendous, letting Bruno Fernandes run past him to set up Cunha while constantly ruining any attack he was involved in. No Hard Feelings At the end of the match, a video emerged of Garnacho standing near the tunnel as every single United star marched past him without acknowledgement.

Later, on social media, numerous players made, or liked, posts designed to mock the Argentine . Luke Shaw uploaded a picture of himself bundling his ex-teammate to the floor accompanied by a caption of “important win”. It received many reactions from other United players, including Bruno Fernandes.
