Social media reacts to ex-Steelers HC Mike Tomlin's new job in football
Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has landed a new job in football, and social media is buzzing.
Mike Tomlin is returning to football. But not in the way some would've hoped for, as the former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach is looking make a massive career shift to television โ and social media has been buzzing. On Tuesday, it was reported that Tomlin was set to join NBC to become a studio analyst for Football Night in America, sources told The Athletic.
One social media user on X pointed out that joining NBC, in comparison to other potential networks, may have been a bad choice. This feels like a waste because he won't be seen by as many people on NBC as he might on other networks. The late-afternoon games don't wrap up until 7:30 to 7:45.
Then you get that break where fans watching football all day get away from the TV until 8:15 or so. โ Matt Infante (@MattInfante) April 21, 2026 It's safe to say that this football fan isn't thrilled about Tomlin's new position, taking aim at the former coach's long-worded Tomlinisms. Word salad for Sunday dinner.
No thanks! โ Primehitman33 (@primehitman33) April 21, 2026 Love him or hate him, Tomlin has been pure entertainment during media availabilities. And that isn't lost on this social media reaction.
