Mike Vrabel breaks silence after Dianna Russini resigns from job
Mike Vrabel has issued a new statement after Dianna Russini's resignation from The Athletic.
New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel finally spoke about the ongoing Dianna Russini controversy on Tuesday, although he didn't say much directly to the situation itself. Vrabel told reporters on Tuesday that he's had "some difficult conversations" regarding the scandal that saw him and Russini recently cozying up to each other at an Arizona hotel . The situation has sparked backlash for both because of Russini's status as a journalist and Vrabel's as an NFL coach and in the fact that they're both married.
"I've had some difficult conversations with people that I care about, with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players," Vrabel said in his statement. "Those have been positive and productive. We believe, in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions.
That includes me. That starts with me. We never want our actions to negatively affect the team.
