Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, once exiled this season, has reportedly played his way back into the picture with the club hierarchy and is set for a new contract to stay at his boyhood club.

Samuel Luckhurst reported on Tuesday that there is a verbal agreement between the player and club for a new five-year deal and a nice salary bump up to 150k/week. His ability to move the ball and turn through pressure was on display again in United’s 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, registering a 100% final third passing rate with 21 carries, 5 ball recoveries and 3 interceptions in midfield. A new deal is expected before the end of the season, and would keep the local lad in Red into the 2030s.
