The Boston Red Sox have plenty of talent in the minor leagues, and their No. 27 prospect, Eduardo Rivera, is one step closer to the big leagues. Sox Prospects' Chris Hartfield broke the news, and Rivera confirmed the report on his Instagram.
Rivera is 22 years old and made two starts in Double-A this season. He allowed one earned run and six hits in those two starts. Now, he will get a crack at Triple-A for the first time.
Rivera played in 10 games at the Double-A level last season, making nine starts and posting a 4. 25 ERA. This year, he pitched for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic.
