His time as a WR showed a lot of promise, but also a lot of inconsistency which hampered his ability to get on the field, even with what was a lackluster WR room at the time. Thankfully Randall stepped into the RB room and helped make an impact. He is only 1 of 4 Clemson RBs to exceed 750 yards rushing in a season, and when he was able to get some space he wasn’t going to be caught.
His size also allowed him to tough out the short yards, even without the typical vision you would see from an RB. NFL Projections: Randall will be an interesting option for NFL teams. He’s not a standard running back, his size and how he runs mark him as more of a WR.
But his experience at both positions will provide some versatility for teams. Randall’s success at the professional level will be a combination of improving his blocking ability, getting his pad level down when he runs, and showcasing an ability on special teams. He could be a useful role player on any number of teams.
