Former Steelers HC Mike Tomlin makes huge career shift

•Yahoo Sports

Mike Tomlin stepped down as HC of the Steelers at the end of the season but now it's reported he's moving to broadcasting with NBC.

At the end of the 2025 regular season, Mike Tomlin stepped down as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers after 19 seasons. The notion of Tomlin being the head coach of another team never really sat right but from the beginning it always seemed like broadcasting was the future for him. Now, according to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Tomlin is headed that direction and will join Football Night in America on NBC.

Tomlin is one of the most successful head coaches in NFL history and a sure-fire Hall of Famer. Pittsburgh's lack of success in the playoffs over the last decade was a sore spot for fans and we presume the organization as well and after another blowout playoff loss, Tomlin recognized it was time for him to move on. Now, Tomlin can take his insight and dry sense of humor to NBC.
