Georgia gymnastics' co-head coaches have split as Ryan Roberts is headed to Auburn. What does it mean for Cécile Canqueteau-Landi and staff?

Georgia gymnastics' co-head coaches have split. It was announced Tuesday morning, April 21, that Ryan Roberts will be taking over the program at Auburn , which leaves Cécile Canqueteau-Landi as the sole leader of the GymDogs program. “With his demonstrated excellence in recruiting and developing high-level SEC gymnasts, Ryan Roberts is the ideal person to lead  Auburn ’s gymnastics program,” Auburn athletics director  John Cohen  said in a release.

“Ryan’s professional experience makes him a great fit. " A team spokesperson said the program will not be replacing the co-head coach and Canqueteau-Landi will now have sole possession of the program's reins. Roberts completed his second season as co-head coach, fourth overall season with Georgia, just last week in the NCAA Championships at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The GymDogs finished third in their semifinal and did not advance to the second day of action to fight for the title. He's spent nearly a decade in the SEC gymnastics atmosphere with a four-season stint at Alabama as an assistant coach before coming to Athens. Roberts and Canqueteau-Landi went 30-22-1 in their two-years together.

Roberts' salary was $268,000 and Canqueteau-Landi's salary is $340,000. This article originally appeared on Athens Banner-Herald: UGA gymnastics not replacing co-head coach role, Ryan Roberts to Auburn
