Michigan basketball coach Dusty May is targeting 2027 five-star Obinna Ekezie Jr., a 7-foot center, for an official visit.
Dusty May continues to be on a heater in all ways, from recruiting, to the transfer portal, to -- well, you know -- winning the national championship. The Wolverines aren't messing around, and though the transfer portal has been a little less bombastic compared to last year, it's been heating up with JP Estrella committed, while Juke Harris and Moustapha Triam have been heavily targeted. But organic recruiting is still a thing, and though it's now been a few long weeks since 2026 five-star Brandon McCoy committed to the program, May and company have their eyes set on another five-star in Orlando (Fla.
) Southeastern Prep five-star Obinna Ekezie Jr. , the No. 2 player in the nation in 2027.

Ekezie, who is originally from Nigeria, is a priority recruit for many college programs, including the Wolverines.
According to Tipton, the Lagos native who also played at Napa (Calif. ) Prolific Prep could also potentially reclassify, meaning he could be an addition to the already stellar 2026 class that May has put together, which currently ranks fifth in the nation, according to Rivals.
