Lafayette Parish and its surrounding area has been home to phenomenal high school athletes that have become household names over the decades. And we want to take a look at back at some of the best the area has ever seen. To do so, we need help from our readers.
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, USA TODAY Sports will celebrate the 250 greatest American sports figures of all time. Alongside that national recognition, the USA TODAY Network will spotlight the roots of the country’s sports culture: the high school athletes and sports figures who shaped communities and defined their states. We are looking for the best football players … EVER … to suit up in high schools across the 337 area.
