It won't be on a sideline, though, after leaving his two-decade gig as the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach. Tomlin is going to TV. According to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand , Tomlin is going to sign with NBC to be a part of their pregame show for Sunday Night Football.
Tomlin will be a studio analyst for that show, "Football Night in America," which notably parted ways with Tony Dungey recently. "Tomlin, 54, has been eyed by sports TV executives for more than a decade because of his success as a Super Bowl-winning Steelers coach, his knowledge of the game and his unique phraseology," Marchand writes. Marchand adds that Fox had interest in Tomlin, too.
"NBC had the biggest need for his services," Marchand writes. "... The roles of Rodney Harrison, Jac Collinsworth and Chris Simms are also in question as the network attempts to have more current star power and fewer people on the show.
