According to MLB. com’s Rhett Bollinger , Rodriguez faced live hitters for the first time since spring training on Monday. Rodriguez threw 30 pitches to Angels' infielder Vaughn Grissom, outfielder Bryce Teodosio, and first base coach Adam Eaton.
The 26-year-old was “encouraged” by his 30-pitch outing and will continue to build up his arm to rejoin the starting rotation. “It's a big step,” Rodriguez said to Bollinger. “Obviously, when you’re out for a long period of time not getting to see hitters, it's disappointing.
