Prep roundup: Austin softball gets big win over Florence
Apr. 21—Austin scored six runs in the first two innings as the Black Bears picked up a big 9-4 area win over Florence in softball action on Monday. Liann Sanchez led the way, driving in three runs on two hits.
Arden Breedlove finished with two hits, including a home run, and an RBI. Charlie Barnes had a hit and two RBIs. Marissa Adams got the win in the circle, allowing eight hits and four runs.
— Falkville 15, Tanner 0: Peyton Holloway homered and finished with three hits and five RBIs in a big win for Falkville. Carley Powers added three hits and two RBIs, while Maggie Holbrooks drove in two runs on an inside-the-park home run. — Lawrence County 13, East Lawrence 3: Bella Cross had a strong day in the circle for the Red Devils, allowing four hits and three runs with 10 strikeouts in the win.
Cross also had two hits and an RBI at the plate, while LA Norwood had a hit and three RBIs. Averie Hargett, Lily Claborn and Kelsi Whitehead each led East Lawrence with a hit and an RBI. — Hatton 8, Russellville 5: Izzy Vinson had a single, double and triple and drove in four runs to lead Hatton.
Zella Williamson added hit and two RBIs. — Falkville 19, Tanner 1; Harper Ward homered and finished with two hits and six RBIs. Maggie Halbrooks had three hits and three RBIs and Lily Slayton had two hits and three RBIs.
