The 41-year-old, who had a previous spell at Trent Bridge in 2014, was due to play the whole tournament but will not now be travelling to the UK. Notts director of cricket Mick Newell said the club were "naturally disappointed" Siddle was not coming, but would now "focus our efforts on securing the services of a replacement for this summer's competition".
Siddle retired from international cricket in December 2019 after taking 221 wickets in 67 Tests but has continued playing domestically in Australia. As well as Notts, he has had spells in England with Lancashire, Essex, Somerset and was with Durham last summer. Siddle has most recently been playing in the Pakistan Super League for Multan Sultans, taking 2-28 from four overs in an 11-run win against Karachi Kings on 19 April.
Notts will begin their 2026 Blast campaign on Friday, 22 May against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.
