The NHL playoff 'WAG jackets' are here, and they're (mostly) great

Yahoo Sports

The decade-long NHL "WAGs" tradition continues with some sharp new jacket styles.

The NHL playoffs are underway, with 16 teams hoping to outlast everyone else for a chance to hoist one of the coolest trophies in sports. The Colorado Avalanche are the favorites to win in 2026, followed by the Carolina Hurricanes, but the first set of games have been exciting so far. One of the trends that has emerged in the postseason is the WAG jacket, where the wives and girlfriends of players make customized jackets for the playoffs.

The tradition seems to have started back in 2017 with the Washington Capitals when Lauren Oshie, wife of then-Cap T. J. , made custom jean jackets.

It has since become bigger and more dramatic, with people anticipating each teams WAG jackets as the playoffs approach. Here are some of the looks for the 2026 NHL Playoffs. Houston Oilers Oilers wag jackets!
