According to ESPN, the Panthers are reportedly bringing back a former third-round pick of theirs.

The Carolina Panthers are reportedly bringing back a familiar face (and arm) at quarterback. According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the team is signing quarterback Will Grier. The 31-year-old passer began his NFL career with the Panthers as a third-round selection from the 2019 NFL Draft.

A Davidson, N. C. native and Davidson Day School alum, Grier split his collegiate career between the University of Florida (2014 to 2015) and West Virginia University (2016 to 2018).

He'd enter the pros as a second-team All-Big selection from 2017, where he passed for 37 touchdowns and a conference-leading 351. 3 yards per game. Grier started in Carolina's final two games of his rookie campaign, completing 28 of his 52 throws for 228 yards and four interceptions in a pair of losses.

After being let go by the Panthers ahead of the 2021 season, he'd go on to pick up stints with the Dallas Cowboys (2021 to 2022 and 2024 to 2025), Cincinnati Bengals (2023), New England Patriots (2023), Los Angeles Chargers (2023) and Philadelphia Eagles (2024).
