Or, at least that would make sense, except the NFL schedule planners like to have things a little overlapped sometimes. Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns and other teams with new head coaches will take the field for the second part of their offseason programs. Browns HC Todd Monken will get a chance to see his players doing football-related drills, officially, for the first time after workouts and lifting in the first session.
Cleveland media will also be allowed to be in a session, which is expected to see the Browns quarterbacks throwing the football around for the first time since the regime change: Today is the first day of the Browns’ three-day voluntary veteran minicamp. The practice open to media today marks the first time we’ll see Cleveland’s quarterbacks take the field under first-year coach Todd Monken. — Daniel Oyefusi (@DanielOyefusi) April 21, 2026 A big day for QBs Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, and Dillon Gabriel , assuming all of them are in attendance.
As we saw last offseason, every single thing around the quarterbacks will be heavily dissected, including who seems to be working with the starters, whose passes look the best, who seems most engaged with their teammates, who Monken talks to the most, etc. In the end, Tuesday is just the starting point. None of those observations will mean a lot, but they will give fans a first taste of what to expect under Monken.
