The Kansas City Chiefs are staying put with their special teams unit after reportedly keeping a veteran in the fold with a new contract. According to a report from NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs and punter Matt Araiza have agreed to terms on a one-year deal to return for the 2026 season. Araiza was an exclusive rights free agent because he had fewer than three accrued seasons when his contract had expired.

The Chiefs offered him a one-year tender so that Araiza couldn't negotiate with other teams. Punter news: Matt Araiza is signing back to the #Chiefs on a 1-year deal, per Nick and TJ Linta of @jlsports3 . pic.
