2026 NFL draft: New York Giants not interested in Sonny Styles?
As the 2026 NFL draft nears, rumors abound about the New York Giants' apparent lack of interest in Ohio State LB Sonny Styles.
The New York Giants hosted Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles on a top-30 pre-draft visit, and for weeks, he had been widely projected as a strong possibility at the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Styles, a standout defender with elite size and athleticism, was long considered a favorite to land in New York until shifting sentiment in recent days raised questions about the team's interest.
NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah expressed doubt on the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast podcast when asked about the Giants selecting Styles at No. 5. "I don't (see it)," Jeremiah said.
"A couple of names that popped up were, ok, Jeremiyah Love was still alive there, which would be so interesting because you have the whole Saquon Barkley saga... That's one, and I've heard (Arizona State wide receiver) Jordyn Tyson's name connected with them a lot as a receiver that they really like. " On The Rich Eisen Show , The Ringer's Todd McShay echoed the evolving narrative.
"I thought it was Sonny Styles at No. 5 for the Giants, apparently it may not be," McShay remarked. Rich Eisen added, "That's all I'm hearing, is that the Giants don't want Sonny Styles.
