Celebration of Celtic athletics is returning to Milford. What to know

The sixth annual No Fame Games, a Celtic athletics event, will be held in Milford on June 13.

The sixth annual No Fame Games, a celebration of Celtic culture and athletics , is set for Saturday, June 13, in Milford. The event, modeled after the Scottish Highland Games , will take place from 9 a. m.

to 4 p. m. at the Fino Field Annex, according to a community announcement.

Athletes from throughout the world will participate in five competitions and two championships. Championships include the North American Scottish Backhold Wrestling Championships and the Northeast Irish Collar and Elbow Championships , the latter returning to New England after a 100-year hiatus, according to the announcement. The games will also feature traditional Celtic strength sports, including the Scottish Highland Games Heavy Events, Team Highlander Competition, CrossFit Highlander Challenge and the Stones of Strength Challenge.

There also will be demonstrations of Bataireacht Irish stick fighting. The No Fame Games aims to foster and promote Celtic strength, culture and traditional athletics, according to the announcement.
