The world number two had to withdraw from the Barcelona Open this month and will skip the Madrid Masters starting this week.

He told Spanish broadcaster RTVE late on Monday: "We're trying to do everything right so that the test goes well. " The 22-year-old has won the clay grand slam the last two years. Alcaraz said he was "staying positive" and "staying patient" while waiting to see if he can compete at Roland Garros.
