Karren Brady steps down as West Ham United vice-chairman West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has stepped down after 16 years in the position, according to The Times . The 57-year-old led the negotiations to secure West Ham’s move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016 but has recently become unpopular with the Hammers fans. West Ham fans have been protesting against the club leadership in recent months due to their struggles on the pitch.
Brady is now stepping down to focus on her business interests and House of Lords role. She joined David Sullivan and the late David Gold at West Ham in 2010 after overseeing the sale of Birmingham City for £80 million in 2009. While the club’s supporters are not huge admirers of the Baroness Brady, she has been credited with using the London Stadium’s 62,500 capacity to build a season ticket base of more than 50,000 supporters.
She has wished the Hammers the best for the rest of the season and manager Nuno Espirito Santo will desperately look to keep his side up heading into their remaining five league fixtures.
