Bayern Munich ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal in race for £75m forward Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing Anthony Gordon this summer. But Bayern Munich are currently leading the transfer race for the 25-year-old. According to The Times , Gordon is open to joining the Bundesliga giants.
But a transfer fee could be a major stumbling block as Newcastle value the forward at £75 million. Bayern’s initial valuation is believed to be about £55m, but that is not acceptable for the Magpies. Arsenal have long admired Gordon , and he has featured in recruitment planning meetings.
They are in the market for a player to compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left flank. Liverpool came close to signing Gordon in 2024, but a transfer didn’t materialise in the end. The England international signed a new contract until 2030 after his move to Anfield fell through.
Gordon has been a key first-team player for Newcastle, making 152 appearances across all competitions and scoring 39 goals. He has started 24 times in the Premier League this season, with eight direct goal contributions to his name. But Newcastle must sell this summer if they want to refresh their ageing squad.
