PSG Beaten by Manchester City in Pursuit of Two French Players

Yahoo Sports

Manchester City outmaneuvers PSG, securing two promising French talents for their academy and future plans.

PSG loves developing young players and has its eyes on Mathys Detourbet and Christ Batola. But Manchester City was quicker and will have control over the two young ESTAC players, per reports. In a football world where enormous spending has become less common, clubs are organizing themselves to unearth future gems.

PSG has understood this well, and its model is working very well. If there is one club that wants to follow the Parisian academy's example, it is Manchester City. Moreover, the English club will soon secure the services of two ESTAC talents (more or less directly).

According to Team Talk , the Etihad Stadium tenants will indeed get their hands on Detourbet, 18, and Batola, 16. As a reminder, Troyes is part of the group that manages Manchester City. The outlet reports that PSG fought to secure at least one of the two young talents, but Manchester City's will was indeed to invest in them.

Note that while Detourbet will fly to Manchester next summer to sign his contract and return on loan to ESTAC, Batola will extend his contract with Troyes. This allows the club to keep control within the group managed by Manchester City. Batola could therefore also join the Sky Blues one day, like his Troyes teammate.
