A local goose fled instead of helping the Phillies make a catch in the outfield

The Philadelphia Phillies need all the help they can get right now. Unfortunately, even a goose wouldn't help them make a routine play. It's still early in the baseball season, but the Phillies entered Monday night's game against the Chicago Cubs with an 8-13 record.

It's certainly not the start the Phillies wanted on the season and unfortunately, Monday night's game was much of the same. As the bottom of the third began, the Phillies were down 4-0 to the Cubs with Aaron Nola on the mound, who gave up an early home run in the contest. Sometime during the game, a stray goose made its way out onto the field and was hanging out in the outfield during play.

Michael Busch of the Cubs sent a ball out into left field, right at the local goose. However, instead of making a play to help out the Phillies, the goose flew away as the ball entered its vicinity and allowed it to drop in for a single. The lights were too bright for the goose 😂 pic.
