UFC's White House event to feature giant structure already on view
Lititz, Pennsylvania, is serving as the temporary home for a structure that will serve as the UFC Freedom 250 centerpiece, according to a newspaper.
A massive structure built for UFC Freedom 250 set for June 14 at the White House is on display in cozy Lititz, Pennsylvania (pop. 9,733). The Lititz Record Express posted a photo of the structure on newspaper’s Facebook page April 20, and the town's sneak peak quickly began to circulate on social media.
The structure is 90 feet tall and 120 feet by 120 feet on the ground, according to Jeremy Strathmeyer, a member of the Warwick Township Board of Supervisors in Lititz. Strathmeyer said the supervisors on April 15 approved a special request from TAIT Global LLC to test the structure at its facility on Furnace Hills Pike. Jeff Tennis, Vice-Chairman Warwick Township Board of Supervisors, also confirmed group's approving the request.
One Facebook commenter said she got excited when she thought it was a rollercoaster. But according to the Lititz Record Express, it’s "a temporary open-air studio structure to serve as the centerpiece'' during the UFC’s seven-fight card at the White House. The structure was set up in a matter of days.
Strathmeyer said he left town Friday and thinks the structure already might be down. "I think they dissembled it and put it in 18-wheelers and they're getting ready to transport it down to Washington,'' Strathmeyer said. "That was the plan.
