Intriguing center enters portal that should interest Michigan State
A new center has entered the transfer portal that should find himself rising towards the top of Michigan State's big board.
As it is well known, Michigan State has yet to land on a center prospect, and with the portal window closing, the Spartans are going to have to make a move. The Spartans have zeroed in on a few top targets , whom they are working on communicating with now, but a new player has hit the market and would be a perfect fit for MSU. Vincent Iwuchukwu, a Georgetown transfer, has hit the market on Monday afternoon.
A 7-foot-1, 260-pound center that has been a solid college basketball player, Iwuchukwu has a similar skill set to Carson Cooper that would fit the Michigan State roster. This past year with Georgetown, he averaged 11. 6 points and 6.
1 rebounds on 55% shooting in just over seven shots per game. He previously spent time with St. John's and USC, prior to joining the Hoyas in 2025-26.
After four years of college basketball, he would need a waiver to get a fifth year of college basketball, which is believed to happen because of a medical incident hindering his freshman year with the Trojans. With Michigan State needing a starting caliber center, Iwuchukwu would provide the necessary experience that could raise the Spartans ceiling, while also showing he is capable of playing at a high level in major college basketball. This should be a name that the Spartans put near the top of their big board.
