With World Cup looming, Alexi Lalas look-alikes run 2026 Boston Marathon
Five Alexi Lalas lookalikes were spotted at the 2026 Boston Marathon on Monday.
As one of the faces of Fox Sports' World Cup coverage , Alexi Lalas is going to be everywhere this summer. On Monday, April 20, he showed up at an unexpected place: the Boston Marathon . But it wasn't exactly Lalas himself.
Amid the estimated 30,000 racers in the 2026 race were five lookalikes dressed in Lalas' iconic motif from the 1994 World Cup: denim kit, flowing red hair and long goatee. Unsurprisingly, Fox Sports was behind the guerrilla marketing stunt. Lalas became an American soccer folk hero during the 1994 World Cup, the last time the United States hosted the tournament.
