Pair of Franklin County runners finish 2026 Boston Marathon
Kyle Phillips finished a half hour behind Boston Marathon winner John Korir.
Familiar names were atop the Boston Marathon podium. Kenya's John Korir and Sharon Lokedi repeated as champions on Monday, April 20. Korir did it in record fashion, taking an early lead and finishing in 2:01:52.
Lokedi broke from the pack late in the race and finished in 2:18:51, slightly behind last year's record time. Americans finished fifth in both races. Zouhair Talbi was the first U.
S. man across in 2:03:45 and Jess McClain was the first American woman across the finish line in 2:20:49. For all but a handful of the approximately 30,000 runners in the prestigious marathon, running the famous 26.
2-mile course wasn't about winning. It was about reaching personal goals. A pair of Franklin County runners made the most of their chance in Monday's race.
