Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal wins latest award Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has early this week secured for himself another piece of prestigious individual silverware. This comes amid confirmation of the 18-year-old clinching the World Young Sportsperson of the Year prize at the Laureus Sports Awards. The annual Laureus Awards ceremony ‘honours the greatest and most inspirational sporting triumphs of the year and showcases the work of Laureus Sport for Good’.
Lamine’s latest accolade of course comes in the midst of another spectacular season to date for the young winger. Already the very best player in world football in the eyes of many, Lamine has taken his production in the final third to a new level in 2025/26. All told, across 44 appearances in all competitions in the colours of Barcelona, the Spanish international has racked up 41 direct goal contributions.
His next chance to add to this tally will come on Wednesday, when Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana lock horns with Celta Vigo in a La Liga clash. Conor Laird – GSFN
