High school track and field: Top performances (Week 7 update) including two near misses with state records

One of the most impressive performances of the week included Weber senior Josh Hamblin running a 10. 40 in the 100 meters at the Davis Invitational, as he missed the state record by just . 04 seconds.
At the Cavemen Classic last Thursday, Maple Mountain senior Brigham Griffiths jumped 24โฒ00. 50 in the long jump, coming less than an inch away from Davis DeGrootโs state record of 24โฒ01. 25 from last season.
Another notable performance belong ed to Lone Peak senior Matthew Bryant in the discus. He recorded a throw of 205โฒ11. 00, the first Utah athlete to throw over 200 feet in the past 22 years.
