After another thrilling week of the high school softball season, it's time to look back on the best performances. Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the Morris/Sussex Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page. Voting closes at 5 p.
m. Thursday. Jaeden Antonelli, Whippany Park The junior shortstop went 9-for-12 at the plate, scoring eight runs and driving in five runs across three games this week.
Antonelli went 4-for-4 with a double and a triple, scoring three runs in a 9-5 win over Franklin on April 16. Emmagrace Bartels, Jefferson The senior outfielder went 6-for-12 at the plate this week, scoring eight runs and earning 10 RBIs across four wins. Bartels struck a home run in four straight games, including in a 6-5 win over Morris Hills in 10 innings on April 15.
Taylor Heinemann, Morris Knolls The senior shortstop stole five bases and scored six runs while batting 5-for-11 across three games during the week. Heinemann stole four bases during a 2-for-4 day against West Morris, scoring three runs in a 12-6 win on April 14. Ana Martino, Pequannock The junior third baseman contributed to a pair of wins for the Golden Panthers.
Martino went 3-for-6 with three RBIs, four runs scored and four stolen bases in wins over Parsippany and Glen Rock. Martino stole three bases and scored three times in a 10-2 win over Parsippany on April 13. Jillian Migliaccio, Morris Catholic The junior infielder went 6-for-11 with four RBIs and five runs scored as the Crusaders earned wins over Madison and Passaic Tech this week.
