Injured Sutherland pulls out of Yorkshire stint
Australian all-rounder Will Sutherland pulls out of a T20 Blast deal with Yorkshire because of an unspecified injury.
Australian all-rounder Will Sutherland has pulled out of a T20 Blast deal with Yorkshire because of an unspecified injury. The 26-year-old was due to be available for two rounds of the County Championship as well as the Blast, having played for the club in both competitions last year. "News on any replacement will be communicated in due course.
Everyone at Yorkshire CCC wishes him well as he starts his recovery," said a statement. Sutherland captained Victoria to the Sheffield Shield final last month, scoring 366 runs and taking 24 wickets, but they were beaten by South Australia. In previous English seasons, he signed deals to play with Somerset and Essex but injuries prevented him from making an appearance for either side.
Yorkshire will play their first T20 fixture against Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge on 22 May.
