Ajax competing with Schalke 04 for Rangers midfielder According to Fabrizio Romano , Ajax are one of two sides interested in signing Rangers midfielder Bailey Rice. The midfielder is out of contract this summer and is yet to sign a new deal with Rangers. Schalke 04, who are managed by former Plymouth and Cercle Brugge head coach Miron Muslic, are said to be interested in Rice.
Schalke 04 have already stolen a march on other sides with an offer, although the midfielder may want to wait and see if the side end up winning promotion to the Bundesliga. The 19-year-old Rice made his first team debut for Rangers back in the 2022/2023 season. since then, he has gone on to play 16 games for the Scottish side, including one appearance so far this season.
Rice has also been capped multiple times by Scottish youth sides up to U19 level. Ajax are looking to be active this summer in revamping their squad as they look to get the side back on track to compete for silverware in the Netherlands and be competitive in Europe. GBeNeFN | Ben Jackson
