NFL Analyst criticizes Chiefs' signing of RB Kenneth Walker III
In a recent article, an NFL Analyst criticized the Kansas City Chiefs' free agent signing of running back Kenneth Walker III | @EdEastonJr
Bleacher Report writer Gary Davenport is not a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs ' blockbuster signing of running back Kenneth Walker III. The addition of the Super Bowl LX MVP, he believes, is one of the NFL's worst free agency signings of the offseason. "Throughout his four-year career, Walker has struggled with nagging injuries," Davenport wrote .
"Last year was the first time he played in all 17 games. While the 2022 second-round pick has posted two 1,000-yard seasons, he has never had 230 carries in a season. He has also never played 600 snaps in a season.
Walker is being paid like a bell-cow running back. But to date, he hasn't shown that he can actually be one. " Walker's Seattle Seahawks teammate, Zach Charbonnet, helped carry the load last season.
The split, which carried the source of the signing criticism, wasn't a factor in general manager Brett Veach's decision. Walker signed a maximum of $45,000,000 over three years, with $28,700,000 of his contract fully guaranteed to join Kansas City's backfield. During the 2025 season, Walker rushed for 1,027 yards to go along with five touchdowns.
