Kon Knueppel gets candid about late-season struggles
After falling to the Orlando Magic and failing to reach the playoffs, Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel spoke about his late season struggles.
Former Duke Blue Devil Kon Knueppel had an incredible season for the Charlotte Hornets , leading the NBA in three-pointers made as a rookie. That said, the Hornets forward struggled to end the season, scoring 17 points combined with only one three-pointer in Charlotte's two Play-In Tournament matchups. In an exit interview following Charlotte's elimination from playoff contention, Knueppel spoke about his struggles to finish out the year.
"No excuses; I just didn't make a lot of shots. I shot really well throughout the year; I just got to a point in the last two weeks of the season, I just didn't shoot it great. That's sometimes how it rolls.
Obviously there are some big games, and you want to be able to shoot it well and have your best stuff, and I just didn't have it. " Despite fatigue through the closing stages of the year, Knueppel still had a monster rookie season. In 81 games he averaged 18.
