Matt Rempe never played golf in high school. The 2006 St. Mary Catholic Central graduate focused on other sports.
Rempe became “addicted” to golf after graduation. He celebrated the summer solstice in 20024 by playing 126 holes – seven complete 18-hole rounds – in one day at Monroe Golf & Country Club. Rempe has taken over the boys golf team at SMCC. “It’s been a good transition for me after doing a lot of youth football, baseball and basketball,” he said. “It’s good to be around the kids.
The boys are excited. ” More than 20 boys tried out the team. That was too many to effectively use SMCC’s time on the course, so cuts had to be made.
