Abreu, a native of the Dominican Republic, signed with the Washington Nationals as a free agent in 2012, played for the Hagerstown Suns in 2015 and spent eight seasons in the Nationals farm system, reaching Double-A. He also played in the Arizona Diamondbacks farm system in 2021. Daniel Arroyo Arroyo, a 32-year-old catcher, is returning to professional baseball after a three-year absence.
