Arokodare’s Wolves future in doubt after bust-up with Mane

Arokodare’s Wolves future in doubt after bust-up with Mane Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has been fined after getting into an altercation with Mateus Mane following the loss to West Ham United last week (h/t Nathan Judah ). Wolves had looked on the brink of a revival following the arrival of Rob Edwards, but that defeat, coupled with another loss this weekend, has all but sealed their fate. Arokodare was reportedly the sole aggressor in the situation, and Mane has not been fined.

The £24 million summer signing was not on the bench this weekend as Wolves lost to Leeds United. Arokodare’s future at Wolves is reportedly in jeopardy, with the Nigerian international (10 caps) now poised to exit the Molineux Stadium this summer. Arokodare will go down as one of the worst signings from the summer transfer window .

To avoid relegation, teams need a lethal striker to lead the line. In that sense, the 25-year-old has been quite the disappointment. He has managed only three goals in 28 league appearances, missing eight big chances.

Those misses have cost Wolves big points in the grand scheme of things. Combine that with this bust-up, and Wolves should be trying to ship him off this summer. It will be a miracle if Wolves can recoup the money they shelled out to sign him.

Also, Wolves will need a new striker to spearhead their ascent back into the Premier League after dropping down to the second division. The West Midlands outfits should consider a loan swoop for Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor. A ‘threat in behind even though he has the ability to hold the ball up’ , Isidor scored 12 goals and created nine big chances to help push his side into the top flight.
