Coming off the worst start of his career earlier in the week, Garrett Crochet had something to prove during Sunday's outing against the Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park. For the most part, the Boston Red Sox ace pitched well. He allowed a two-out RBI double to Dillon Dingler in the top of the first but quickly settled down, matching Framber Valdez and keeping the score at 1-1 entering the fifth inning.
That's when things suddenly unraveled for Crochet. For the second time on Sunday, he got two quick outs but had trouble getting the third. The Red Sox lefty surrendered a solo homer, a walk, a single, a three-run homer and another single before recording the third out -- his last of the afternoon.
