LAS CRUCES, N. M. –NM State mounted a furious late comeback bid Sunday afternoon at Presley Askew Field at Johnson Stadium, but Sam Houston held on for a 12-10 win.
With the loss, NM State drops to 16-22 overall and 7-11 in league play. NM State struck early, scoring three runs in the opening frame. Aidan Taclas reached on a walk and later came in to score on a wild pitch.
Additionally, Chris Daniels doubled before later crossing home on a Jonatan Clough RBI single. Easton Rulli followed with a sacrifice fly to extend the early advantage. The Bearkats eventually tied the game in the third before the Aggies regained the lead thanks to a pair of wild pitches, pushing the home side ahead 4-3.
