The higher seeds in Louisiana's LHSAA softball playoffs mostly took care of business in the opening weekend of the postseason.

Louisiana's LHSAA softball postseason kicked off this weekend with the state's various divisions contesting the bi-district playoffs.

There were few upsets as many of the top seeds had byes to the second round, and the remaining higher seeds mostly dominated. The only lower seeds to advance out of the first round came in the Non-Select brackets in Division II and Division III while the higher seeds all advanced in Division I and Division IV. In Division II, the #17 DeRidder [LA] Dragons beat the #16 Minden [LA] Crimson Tide, 8-5, and the #19 Eunice [LA] Battling Bobcats beat the #14 Jennings [LA] Bulldogs, 7-5.

Then in Division III, the #17 Church Point [LA] Bears beat the #16 Red River [Coushatta, LA] Bulldogs, 16-0, while the #20 Vidalia [LA] Vikings beat the #13 Caldwell Parish [Columbia, LA] Spartans, 16-2, in the biggest upset.
