Texas A&M erased a six‑run deficit with a nine‑run inning and held off a late rally to beat Mississippi State 10–9, securing its third SEC sweep.

Texas A&M brought out the brooms on Sunday afternoon, taking a wild Game 3 win at Davis Diamond to secure their third SEC sweep of the season. The victory also marks their fifth conference series win, ensuring the Aggies will finish the regular season with more series wins than losses. With five wins in their last six SEC matchups and only six games remaining, A&M continues to strengthen its case to host an NCAA regional, finding ways to win as postseason play approaches.

Having already clinched the series with two tight victories , the Aggies had the sweep within reach, but Mississippi State came out firing in the finale. The Bulldogs erupted for six runs in the first inning, chasing starter Grace Sparks after going on a two-out rally. A&M nearly answered immediately but left the bases loaded in the bottom half, heading into the second inning down 6–0.

Taylor Pannell steadied the game by working around four free passes to keep Mississippi State off the board, and the Aggie offense responded with an explosive second inning. Three straight singles loaded the bases for Kennedy Powell, who punched a single through the left side to score KK Dement. A walk to Tallen Edwards cut the deficit to 6–2, and with nowhere to put Mya Perez, the Bulldogs were forced to pitch to her.

Perez made them pay with a game‑tying grand slam that ignited the crowd and reset the game. Safe to say that one hit the bat and everyone knew it was outta there 💪 @MyaPerez2023 #NCAASoftball x 🎥 SECN+ / @AggieSoftball pic. twitter.
