The Reds tried to sign the Dutchman back in January, albeit on loan. Inter rejected that approach and honestly, it never made much sense. Dumfries had been injured for months - surely not who you need to step in during an injury crisis.
But attention always moved towards the summer. Dumfries will have a €25m release clause in his contract and Liverpool are consistently linked with triggering it. That's a bargain price for a player this good and especially one who plays internationally with several Reds.
