The pitching isn't to blame -- well, at least not the starting pitching. Returning stalwart Kevin Gausman and new guy Dylan Cease have been two of the best pitchers in baseball. Despite that, they have exactly zero wins in their records.
According to analyst Chris Black , just three pitchers in MLB history have begun a season through four starts with 30-plus strikeouts, an ERA below 2. 50 and zero wins. Two of the three are Gausman and Cease this season.
