The Pittsburgh Central Catholic product made the call for the Nittany Lions earlier Sunday morning, becoming the second offensive lineman in the class, joining Maryland interior prospect Owen Reilly who committed on Friday.
Sassic has tremendous size at 6-foot-7, 290 pounds, and he profiles as a guy who could very well play into the 330s. Despite the height, he’s probably a guard longterm. That’s where he plays for Pittsburgh Central Catholic (who, by the way, have other starters headed to Notre Dame and Ohio State; just a crazy high school OL) and it’s he projects best in college.
Unlike his Penn State classmate Owen Reilly, he’s not the most nimble of foot. He’s an old school road grader who’s best moving north and south. Just line, let him fire off the ball, and put defenders into the dirt.
