Giants land pair of Ohio State stars in updated mock draft after trade

The New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals shocked the NFL world when they pulled off a blockbuster trade on Saturday night. In a rare move involving an elite player, the Giants sent Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

So with the news, we went back in and re-ran our Giants mock draft, going five rounds to see how they not only use those two first-round picks but is there an opportunity to replace Lawrence without spending one of them. First round - LB Sonny Styles - Ohio State Many pundits put Styles ahead of teammate Arvell Reese and his offseason workouts really cemented that. Styles makes plays from multiple positions and his rare blend of power and speed make this an easy choice.

First round - WR Carnell Tate - Ohio State Coming back around in the first round and the Giants have to be excited to see Lake just sitting there. With Jaxon Dart in place as the franchise quarterback, Tate gives him a second elite weapon in the passing game to go with Malik Nabers. Second round - DT Christian Miller - Georgia We aren't saying Miller in on the level of Lawrence but as a pass-rushing interior defensive lineman with the power to hold up against the run, he's a great player in his own right and a starter.

Fourth round - CB Malik Muhammad - Texas The Giants can use an upgrade in the secondary and Muhammad is a bargain here. He's got NFL length and the frame to fill out a little more to help against the run but his instincts and agility in coverage are very good. Fifth round - S Michael Taaffe - Texas Back to Texas for another defensive back.
