The Cincinnati Bengals stunned the NFL world with their blockbuster trade on Saturday night, sending the 10th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the New York Giants for Dexter Lawrence.
With Lawrence seeking more money in a deal, and the Giants seemingly not willing to acquiesce to his demands, Lawrence requested a trade. And with the Bengals not optimistic at pick 10, they sent their first-rounder for the All-Pro DT. The next morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Bengals and Lawrence are in agreement on a new $28 million extension that will be tacked onto Lawrence's current deal, giving the Bengals three more seasons with the veteran DT.

After asking for more money from the Giants and being traded to the Bengals, the veteran defensive tackle is getting some more money tacked onto his deal. Before this trade went through, Lawrence was signed for $42 million over the next two seasons, with cap hits of $20 million in 2026 and $22 million in 2027.
By adding this new $28 million mark to his current deal, Lawrence will now be signed through the next three seasons with a roughly $70 million deal.
